Art of Facility

The management of a titled collection requires a categorisation with clear registration to guarantee sustainability of all aspects of facility management. During the past three years, substantial investments have been made in a software system (Navision by Microsoft) that manages and allocates artworks by means of PDA scanners (allocation means among other things: linking locations/rooms to artworks). Since the implementation of this system, BAS has been managing increasing numbers of artworks (presently around 5,000 pieces) from various external patrons.

Experience has shown that artworks easily get lost in the chaos of moving. That is why a link is set up with Jpeg images to facilitate recovery. Visual material is also necessary for the insurer in case of theft or loss. The product “The Art of Facility” offers companies with a titled collection the opportunity to integrate art in this system and make use of the expertise and logistics device of BAS. This collection can also be complemented with the rent or lease collection of BAS.
